Why carry a generic compass, when you can carry an authentically branded compass? Our replica of the 1915 Magnapole compass comes very close to the original. The face features the same layout as the 1915 patent. The case is a little thinner, and the tensioner knob for the needle lock is slightly different. We also made the lettering on the back larger and removed the patent date from the face. This prevents the compass from being confused with original antiques. Beveled glass lens, as per original. This version currently only comes in a solid brass case, but we hope to eventually offer it in "white metal" as well, as Magnapole offered both styles. These compasses were sold in nearly all of the major catalogs in the late teens and 20s. A&F also offered a Magnapole that was engraved with "Abercrombie's Camp" on the back. As that name is still protected, we cannot include that option. This is a fantastic, functional magnetic compass that also looks great and adds authenticity to your gear!
