Our close copy of New York Sporting Goods' "Twin Knife and Fork". This set is a knife and fork that slide together, protecting the tines and blade inside the opposing handle. This keeps the utensils clean, and prevents them from poking holes in your gear. Ours measures 8 and 1/4" closed, which is 1/4" over the original measurement. However, ours also weighs 2 oz, which puts it a half ounce under the original weight, which we feel is a major improvement! Handle width is the same at 3/4". For safety reasons, we opted for a blunted knife point as opposed to the original sharp point. This is because you have to point the knife at your other hand to put these together. The only other change we made was to produce these in stainless steel instead of carbon steel. This prevents the utensils from rusting inside the wood cases, which was a problem with the antique ones as well. This is a great addition to any camping setup!
